HINDU SWAYAMSEVAK SANGH
(HSS) LAUNCHES A CHILDREN’S MAGAZINE FOR SECOND GENERATION HINDU
AMERICANS
Sunnyvale, CA, August 12th, 2003 – Hindu Swayamsevak
Sangh (HSS), a non-profit, cultural organization focused on Hindu community in
the USA announced that it launched Balagokulam Magazine on the occasion of
auspicious Hindu religious festival, Rakshabandhan. Balagokulam Magazine is
expected to provide the much-needed Hindu cultural education to the second
generation Hindu Americans in the United States.
Balagokulam magazine is
the first of its kind in the USA with a Hindu theme, meant exclusively for
second-generation Hindu children. The magazine will include several sections
including a youth section dedicated to Hindu teenagers. “We are excited to
launch Balagokulam Magazine,” said Suresh Jain, a spokesperson for Balagokulam
Magazine. “The magazine will fill a big gap that exists today. It will impart
critical Hindu cultural education in an interesting and exciting manner. At a
time when Hinduism’s contributions such as Yoga are increasingly adopted by the
American Society, it is crucial for second-generation Hindu Americans to be
knowledgeable about their Hindu heritage,” continued Suresh Jain.
HSS’
objective in launching Balagokulam Magazine is to create a resource for Hindu
families to benefit from traditional and time-tested Hindu cultural values in
the 21st century. Hindu values are widely acknowledged for their positive
contributions towards peace, prosperity, family values and spiritual growth for
the entire humanity.
A key facet of the magazine is the contributions
from second-generation Hindu children. Other sections include stories on Hindu
personalities such as national leaders and scientists; articles on Hindu
contributions to science, arts, and Vedic Mathematics; challenging crossword
puzzles; interesting and easy to conduct home experiments; discussions on second
generation issues such as dating and gender gap; and a youth section dedicated
to Hindu teenagers. The magazine will also be a forum for all Hindu children in
the USA to participate in contests and win attractive prizes.
HSS’
vision is to transform Balagokulam Magazine into a magazine of the
children, by the children and for the children.
Balagokulam
Magazine is published quarterly by HSS. Balagokulam Magazine is available in the
USA with an annual subscription. For more information on the magazine or to
