YOGITA is a contest for children on Yoga and Gita. It is being organized in order to celebrate 125th year of Swami Vivekananda's famous speech at the Parliament of World's Religions in Chicago.
Swami Vivekananda was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world and is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century.
Purpose behind this contest is to give children an opportunity to learn about Yoga and Gita and become aware of the path to be free from fear and sorrow and acquire infinite peace and perfection of the Divine - A true yogi as Swamiji.
